Don Bosco College belongs to the Salesian fathers of Don Bosco of the Province of Bangalore. Don Bosco is known to millions as a brilliant educator and a great champion of the young. Don Bosco has about 2500 institutions including 6 universities and 48 professional colleges in 126 countries Don Bosco runs 4 regular colleges and nearly 10 schools in Kerala.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department of social work is functional since to university has sanctioned and introduced social work programme. The department was constituted in 2003. Annual intake of students is 20. The department of social work offers 2-year fulltime regular postgraduate programme in social work, and the college is affiliated to Kannur University, Mangattuparamba, Kannur. At present the course is offered with two electives; Rural & Urban community Development and Medical & Psychiatric social work.  The Kannur University is conferring the degree. Currently social work department of the college is the only department functioning and offering this programme under Kannur University. Kannur University runs one of the most comprehensive social work curriculums in the state of Kerala.
